Decision Day is an annual event that celebrates Detroit seniors as they prepare for a major milestone: graduating high school! The event highlights students' post-grad pathways, whether that is college, trade school or a career program. This year, Detroit College Access Network and Detroit Promise are partnering again to put on this special celebration promoting higher education.

Recap of the Decision Day 2024
The 2024 Detroit Decision Day kicked off with an electrifying atmosphere, thanks to the hype set by DJ HiDefStef & MC Aaron Smith. The event drew participation from 13 schools, bringing together students, educators, and community members.
Attendees were treated to impactful messages from esteemed speakers including UDM President Dr. Donald Taylor, DCAN Executive Director Cyekeia Lee, NFL player Joique Bell, MI Student Aid representative Steve Do, and student speaker Johnathan Jones. LT Governor Garlin Gilchrist added depth to the event with a speech recounting his college experiences.
Awards were a significant part of the day, with Northwestern High School earning recognition as the 2024 Decision Day School of the Year and Kameron Roberson being celebrated as the 2024 Decision Day Student of the Year. Furthermore, several students received the prestigious 2024 DCAN Decision Day Choice Award title their outstanding achievements.
The event concluded with a closing message from a student speaker, Na'Kyah Adjuman and an energetic performance by GMAC Cash, leaving attendees inspired and filled with excitement for the future.
